The Association of Fundraising Consultants (AFC) Forum – Standards or Straitjackets?

‘Standards or Straitjackets?’ is an AFC event for consultants and others who are committed to the highest possible standards in voluntary sector fundraising consultancy. Our Director, Graham Parker, is a Director of AFC and he will participate in the programme. Those wishing to attend should please make their booking at the link below as soon as possible.
Programme:
3.15 pm Arrival – tea and coffee
3.30 – 4.15 pm The Seven Principles, keynote address by David Price, CBE from the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
Selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, honesty, openness, leadership – in his address, followed by questions and discussion. David Prince will explain how the Committee arrived at these principles, their purpose and give examples of how they are applied in public life.
4.15 – 4.45 pm – Standards in Fundraising Consultancy, two clients and their consultants give their perspectives on the standards underpinning a good profitable relationship.
4.45 – 5.30 pm – Challenges to Standards, group discussion of challenging scenarios that arise in fundraising consultancy and ways of addressing these.
5.30 – 6.00 pm – Plenary Groups feed-back the results of their discussions. What would be the seven principles underpinning standards in Fundraising Consultancy, and how can these be integrated into day-to-day activity?
6.15pm – Networking drinks and canapés in the Smoking Room followed by (optional) supper (venue tbc).
